10th Wed.
Had back taped this AM. Engine of Lft. stopped and we dropped to the end of the convoy before they got it going again. Water in the fuel line. Got back into position by 4:00. Still overcast. Don’t feel well. Threw up. Don’t know what’s wrong.

11th Thurs.
Rough as hell. Been sick all day – guard.

12th Fri.
Passed Manila at 1:20 PM. 1st Jap air attack – 4 planes – the top got 3. One of these went into a Liberty ship. Fire soon out. Ship day in convoy.

13th Sat.
Another attack this AM. No damage.

14th Sun.
Damn rough riding. Most of us sick. Hot as heck. Are sitting in the bay. Sure is a mess of equipment here.

15th Mon.
Landed today. Concrete highway, railroad tracks, and beautiful country. Everyone feels happy.

16th Tues.
Natives are very friendly and happy. Are in a swell area. It seems just like a big camping trip in Northern Wisconsin. Had clothes washed even ironed. Some deal, eh.
