18th Friday
Nothing new. Fixed a flat. Hot as hell.

19th Sat.
Had swimming tests today. Made out O.K.

20th Sun.
Rested all day – Wrote 5 letters. No mail.

21st Mon.
Got a bad dose of athletes foot. This wet weather is tough on the feet. Food still poor.

22 – Tues.
No letters. Got Reader’s Digest. Rain again.

23 – Wed.
On guard again. No letters from home.

24 Thurs.
Still no letter. 33rd Div. moving out. Sure game me a funny feeling to see that continual line of men, equipment and guns slowly moving down the road. The rumble of the Cats and tractors and trucks seemed awesome in the night.

25th Fri.
No letter. Sure am homesick.

26th Sat.
No letter. Feel damn blue.

27 – Sun.
A letter at last. Wrote a long letter to Marine. Plated ball this AM. Won 3 to 2. Washed clothes as usual this P.M.
