19th Friday –
Had dental inspection at 0800. Teeth O.K. Worked hard all day on the officer’s quarters. Saw the show “The Song of Bernadette.” Got soaking wet on the way home. Got a letter from home.

20th Sat.
Rain all A.M. No work in forenoon. Went to show “Submarine Alert.” Not much good. Got soaking wet coming back and wading in knee deep mud. Hell it isn’t worth it. No letters today.

  1. FYI: I think he actually used the term “forenoon,” which is the period between dawn and noon.
