6th Saturday
A hot beautiful day. Got a portable movie here to-night and saw the “Stage Door Canteen.” Sure made me homesick. Slept all afternoon. Got the letter Marine wrote from Milwaukee.

7th Sunday
Built a boiling tube and rinse tub by cutting a gas barrel in half. We boiled and washed 8 pair of fatigues and some white shirts, towels, etc. Felt pretty good for the first time. At least this house work eases the tension. No services to-day, but I do a little reading from the Bible and Prayer book.

8th Monday
Saw a movie to-night, the “Bombers Moon“. Not bad but the film broke all the time. Feeling better.

  1. bbl = barrel
Also, add the word “from” before “the Bible.”
